Chinese State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan met Friday with Myanmar Foreign Minister U Nyan Win, saying China will not interfere with its southern neighbor's domestic affairs and hopes to further friendly cooperation.

"The good-neighborly cooperation between China and Myanmar witnessed sound progress since we two countries established diplomatic ties 55 years ago," Tang said. "The mutual-beneficial cooperation in all fields yielded rich fruit."

The Chinese government will strengthen cooperation with Myanmar in various sectors especially economy, trade and drug-control, Tang said. He said he appreciated Myanmar's adherence to the one- China policy and supports to China's strive for reunification.

Nyan Win reiterated Myanmar's adherence to the one-China policy and firm support for China's reunification strive.

Nyan Win began Wednesday his first visit to China since he took office last September. He is here as Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing's guest.
