Protests banned in Nepal's capital

The Nepalese government has prohibited organizing any kind of meeting, rally and other protest program at the central and some other parts of the Kathmandu

Valley, Kathmandu District Administration Office said in Kathmandu Saturday. "Any kind of meeting, rally and other protest program is prohibited in various roads and parts of the valley from Saturday, " the office announced in a press statement.

In order to keep peace and security, the notice of the restriction was made public according to the Local Administration Act, the press statement said.

The restriction notice was issued after Nepalese King Gyanendra on Friday night lifted the state of emergency throughout Nepal, which was imposed three months ago.
