China welcomes foreign financial groups: vice premier

Chinese Vice Premier Huang Ju met US-based Bank of America Corp. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Kenneth D. Lewis in Beijing on Saturday, saying welcome international financial groups to do business in China.

Huang briefed China's economic reform, especially in financial sector and the reform on the state-owned commercial banks.

"We welcome international financial groups to do business in China and promote the Chinese banks to optimize cooperate governance, enhance risk-control and sharpen competitive edge," Huang said.

Lewis said his visit will serve to enhance cooperation with his Chinese counterparts and expand cooperation fields.
