A helicopter of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) crashed Wednesday during a training exercise in the eastern state of Virginia, the FBI said Saturday.
The chopper, a McDonnell Douglas 530 "Little Bird," was being used in a Hostage Rescue Team "fast rope" training exercise when the accident occurred at a firearms range at the FBI Academy, located at the Marine Corps Base, Quantico, a statement posted on the FBI's Web site said.
The two pilots and one member of the rescue team aboard sustained non-life threatening injuries and were transported to a local hospital.
The statement gave no cause for the accident, but said that prior to the accident, the FBI had accumulated almost 200,000 accident free flight hours.
