PNA ready to cooperate with Wolfensohn
font size

The Palestinian National Authority (PNA) is ready to work with James Wolfensohn, the quartet committee's representative, to deal with Israel's withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and northern West Bank, Palestinian sources said Monday.

Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmed Qurei met Sunday with Wolfensohn, former chief of the World Bank, during which Qurei said that the PNA is ready to render Wolfensohn's mission a success.

Qurei hoped that Wolfensohn would work to help implement the roadmap peace plan and stop Israel from expanding settlements in the West Bank and building the separation wall.

For his part, Wolfensohn said that he will work with Palestinian teams and will also present a report to a meeting of the quartet committee due on May 9 in Moscow.
