British soldier killed in Iraq: defense ministry

A British soldier was killed Monday during fighting in Iraq, the Ministry of Defense announced.

The soldier from the 12th Mechanized Brigade died from injuries "sustained in hostile action" in Iraq.

The Ministry of Defense gave no further details.

More than 80 British troops have been killed in Iraq.
