font size

The engine of the Vaishali Express train caught fire in Bihar in northern India Tuesday but the blaze was put out and no one was hurt, Indo-Asian News Service reported.

According to railway officials in Patna, capital of Bihar, the fire broke out in the engine of the Vaishali Express coming from New Delhi to Barauni while it was passing through Vaishali district.

However, the driver noticed the fire and stopped the train nearHajipur, averting a major mishap.

Officials said all passengers of the train were safe.

Investigations into the cause of fire are on. Last month, another train passing through Bihar had caught fire.
