British Prime Minister Tony Blair on Friday vowed to honor the promises his party had made after the ruling Labour won a historic third-term in Thursday's general election.
Claiming it "an honor and a privilege" to be returned to office, Blair said at his Downing Street office that "we have the knowledge, ability and confidence to deliver."
"I now have a clear idea of what British people expect me and will focus relentlessly on people's priorities set for us", said the prime minister.
He pledged to sort out immigration and re-establish respect in classrooms and on Britain's streets, while improving health services and the pension system.
The Labor is estimated to have a majority of 66 seats, nearly halved from the 2001 figure, whereas the Conservatives had a net gain of 30 seats, and the Liberal Democrats, nine more seats.
Earlier on Friday, the Queen Elizabeth II asked Blair to shape a new Cabinet.
