Six Jordanians kidnapped in IraqSix Jordanians working in Iraq have been kidnapped by a militant group, according to a video tape aired by Qatar-based al-Jazeera TV channel on Friday. The six hostages, shown seated on the floor holding their passports, were said to have been working with the US-led forces in Iraq. The group, calling itself al-Bara bin Malik Brigades, warned Jordanian companies against working with US forces. Insurgents have frequently abducted foreign workers in Iraq to demand their companies to leave, or to collect ransom. Some of the hostages have been killed while other were released. Over 200 foreigners, dozens of whom were Jordanians, have been abducted in Iraq since US-led invasion of Iraq in March 2003. Enditem Source: Xinhua |
