National electronic information parks to show up soon
font size

The Ministry of Information Industry will identify the first fleet of national electronic information parks this month, adding to the first batch of the 9 national bases for the sector in Beijing, Tianjin, Qingdao, Shanghai, Suzhou, Hangzhou, Shenzhen, the coastal areas in Fujian and the Pearl River Delta.

The ministry is working on policies to prop up the bases and parks and the interaction mechanism between them. It aims to make the bases and parks the "cradle" of core technologies and industries for the sector.

The 9 bases were initiated in 2004. They combine to contribute more than 70 percent of the total sales revenue, industrial added value, taxes and export value in China. They are also home for research institutes, national R&D centers and foreign investment.

The ministry has also decided to speed up the process to build information-oriented enterprises, agriculture and cities.
