Tanzania to host world tourism modeling contest

The 2005 Miss Tourism Model of the World is planned to be held in Dar es Salaam in July, according to local press reports on Saturday.

John Singh, president of the Miss Tourism World Organizing Committee, said that the contest would promote local tourism as well as producing this year's Miss Tourism Model of the World.

Newspaper The Guardian quoted the tourism modeling chief as saying that he had previously thought that Mount Kilimanjaro was in Kenya and that the Victoria Falls were in South Africa.

An international sponsor has already promised to assist the modeling contest in Tanzania.
