Sri Lankan military has lodged a complaint with the international truce monitors against the Tamil Tigers for alleged firing over a military camp, state-owned ITN TV reported Sunday.
The report said the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) fired gun shots over the military camp at Kattaparichchan in the eastern port district of Trincomalee around 9:45 p.m. local time ( 1545 GMT) Saturday.
Although no one was hurt, a large number of fired bullets fell in the immediate area surrounding the camp.
The ITN said the military regarded the attack as a violation of the ongoing cease-fire.
The LTTE also has lodged a complaint with the truce monitors on the same incident.
The Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM) sources said that they have launched an investigation over the incident.
Kattaparichchan area is partly controlled by the government troops and partly controlled by the Tigers.
