Billions gov't investment on agriculture
font size

The Chinese Ministry of Finance will earmark some 9.85 billion yuan for the agricultural comprehensive development this year, 800 million yuan more than last year.

Nearly 6 billion yuan will go to grain grown areas. This is the highest investment ever made for this purpose.

More than 70 percent of the total financial support to the agricultural comprehensive development program will be spent in improving the harvest. If nearly 30 million mu of fields with medium and low yields grow higher output as a result of the improvement program, there will be at least another 3 billion kilogram of grain output.

The whole project will also build waster-saving infrastructure for the irrigation and improve the eco-system. Support will also be given to the industrialization of the agriculture.
