Brazil, without playin on Monday, move on to the quarterfinals of the first edition of the FIFA World Beach Soccer Championship, thaks to the 4-1 Spanish victory over Thailand.
The hosts of the tournament in Rio de Janeiro, are to meet Spain on Tuesday. The Iberian team confirmed its presence in the tournament after defeating Italy in the decisive match of the European heat.
On Sunday Thailand lost 9-2 against Brazil, becoming the first team to conclude its competition in the tournament.
Spain and Brazil meet Tuesday at 19:45 hours, local time (2245 GMT). The Spaniards had a hard time to break the defense of the Thais, and could only score until the second quarter, through Amarelle, who scored once again in the third quarter.
David scored two more goals for Spain.
In Group B activity, Japan defeated the United States 3-2, earning the applause of the Brazilian fans.
Through the victory, Japan and Portugal top the group. On Tuesday the United States have a chance for reivindication playing against Portugal.
Also on Tuesday, Uruguay will play Ukraine, and France face Argentina.
