Japan to reject simulated brands
font size

Japanese media reported recently that the Ministry of Finance of Japan was considering a ban on imports of goods simulating designs of name brands next year.

Such goods are not labeled as the brands whose designs are copied or imitated. Imports of such goods from China and other countries are increasing.

The existing Japanese law has kept goods involved patent infringement off the Japan market. The new regulation to be effective in 2006 extends the ban on simulated goods.
