Abbas stresses peaceful co-existence
font size

Palestinian National Authority Chairman, Mahmoud Abbas, says the Palestinians are willing to seek peaceful co-existence with Israel on the condition that Israel withdraws from all the Arab territories it has occupied since 1967.

Abbas, speaking at the South American-Arab Summit in Brasilia, called on the leaders of participating nations to actively push forward the Middle East peace process and urge Israel to implement the Road Map peace plan.

The PNA leader says the Palestinians will coordinate with Israel on its disengagement from Gaza and West Bank.

Thirty-four South American and Arab leaders, including Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, and Iraqi President Jalal Talabani are attending the summit.
