Air China presents "air bed" and "air office"

With a huge sum of money invested, Air China introduces the global most luxurious first-class cabin and business class. The first aircraft with luxurious first-class cabin and business cabin debuted at Beijing Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering Corporation on May 10.

A Boeing 747-400 passenger aircraft numbered B2445 has been passed the airworthiness test by General Administration of Civil Aviation of China (CAAC) and US Federation Aviation Administration (FAA), and will be put into operation in the air-route of Beijing-Shanghai, Beijing-Guangzhou and Beijing-Shenzhen.

Air China demonstrated the luxury of the first-class cabin and business cabin on May 10. Taking the first-class cabin as an example, 60 films and on-line games were added; all the seats could be revolved in three ways, changing to an air bed; notebook computers could be placed on the table next to seats, making it an office in the air.

According to Li Jiaxiang, broad chairman of Air China, they have invested totally 688 million yuan in improving the Boeing B747-400 passenger aircraft, the first-class cabins, hardware facilities and software services in business cabins onboard B747-400COMB1 and Air Bus A340-300 and other 15 wide-body long-distance planes since the late 2004. All the improvement work will be finished by the beginning of 2007, and all the airplanes improved will be put into the international long-distance airlines such as China-Europe countries, China-North America countries, etc.
