Beijing-Shanghai Railway has tracks changed for speed-up

Track changing has begun at the Beijing-Shanghai Railway to prepare the line for the sixth national railway speed-up scheduled next year, by then the speed will be raised over 200 kilometers per hour.

According to Beijing Railway Construction Corporation, who is responsible for an 82 kilometers section of the line, 38 pairs of home-made new-style railway switches will be applied and tracks will be adjusted for trains of faster speeds.

China saw the biggest increase in railway construction investment from January to April this year. More than 60 projects have been, or soon to be kicked off, with a total fund exceeding 500 billion yuan.
