Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Kong Quan said Thursday that China noted that there are " positive messages" both from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the United States in their recent statements, which deserve attention.

China hopes such contact could enhance mutual-understanding and dispel the hostility between the two sides.
