Three US soldiers were killed in separate roadside bomb attacks in Iraq on Thursday, the US military said on Friday.
A US soldier assigned to the Marine forces was killed during military operation when his vehicle was hit by a roadside bomb east of Mussayab, some 60 km south of Baghdad, the military said in a statement.
Another soldier was killed in another roadside bomb blast near a military vehicle in an area east of the capital, the statement added.
The third US soldier was also killed in a roadside bomb blast along with another soldier wounded in Samarra, about 110 km north of Baghdad, it said.
The roadside bombs, identified by the US forces as improvised explosive devices, are the favorite weapons for insurgents who kept attacking the US military convoys traveling on the roads in Iraq.
Over 1,600 US soldiers have been killed in Iraq since the US-led invasion in March 2003.
