Chinese State Councilor holds talks with Kyrgyz acting FM

China supports any efforts made by Kyrgyzstan to achieve social stability, economic growth and national harmony, Chinese State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan told visiting Kyrgyzstan's acting Foreign Minister Roza Otunbayeva in Beijing Thursday.

Tang said that ties between China and Kyrgyzstan have had good development since the two nations forged diplomatic relations, adding that the two sides solved the boundary issue permanently, signed agreement on good-neighboring and friendly cooperation, and established productive cooperation in the security and trade arenas.

China and Kyrgyzstan have also supported each other over issues involving each other's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, thus safeguarding the common interests of the two sides, Tang said.

It is China's decision to develop a long-term and stable good neighboring, cooperative relationship with Kyrgyzstan. The policy will never change however the international and regional situation may change, Tang added.

Otunbayeva expressed admiration for China's achievement during the reform and opening-up process, and gave thanks for the assistance China has provided to Kyrgyzstan.

"Developing relations with China is the priority of Kyrgyzstan's foreign policy," he reiterated, saying the country will continue to support the one-China policy and boost all-round cooperation with China.

"China is ready to strengthen dialogue, reciprocal cooperation and coordination in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization with Kyrgyzstan," Tang said, adding this will maintain the peace and stability of Central Asia and bring bilateral ties to a new height.
