One of the six Bangladeshi UN peace keepers injured in Thursday's militia ambush in the Democratic Republic of the Congo died at a hospital in Bunia, principal town of the trouble-torn Ituri region, early Friday.
Nur Mohammad of Bangladesh Army died from a severe bullet-hit in the stomach, according to an official press release published here Saturday.
Nur and five other Bangladeshi blue-helmets were wounded when a local militia way-laid their convoy Thursday evening in Geti, some 50 km off Bunia town in eastern Ituri.
Three of the Bangladeshi troopers suffered bullet injuries and the remaining three were wounded when their jeep turned turtle and fell into a roadside ditch.
Nine Bangladeshi peace keepers were killed in Ituri in February when two patrols were ambushed in one of the worst attacks against UN troops in Africa.
