The Islamic Jihad (Holy War) movement vowed Saturday to continue anti-Israeli attacks until the liberation of Palestine.
Jihad leader Abdallah al Shami made the pledge as the first anniversary of an Israeli operation in Zaytoon neighborhood of Gaza City was marked in Gaza.
One year ago, militants of Jihad's armed wing Saraya al Quds blew up a roadside bomb under Israel's armored vehicles in the neighborhood, killing six Israeli soldiers.
"The Islamic Jihad will commit to our oath to the martyrs and prisoners that resistance will continue until the lands of Palestine are liberated," said al Shami.
"The Palestinians will keep living on their lands, to kill or be killed, and continue strikes and firing rockets until the enemies of Allah (God) leave our Gaza Strip," he added.
Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces Moshe Ya'alon has accused Islamic Jihad and some armed wings of Fatah of not committing to the truce agreed between Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas and Palestinian factions at a Cairo dialogue in March.
Ya'alon also accused Hamas and other militant groups of using the current calmness period to rearm themselves. "Such a position, Israel will never accept," he added.
A total of 13 Palestinian factions agreed to extend a calm period to the end of year at the March 17 dialogue in Cairo, Egypt.
