    First shipment of Taiwan fruits arrives in Fuzhou

    The first 33 tons shipment of Taiwan fruits after the visits by KMT Chairman Lien Chan and PFP Chairman James Soong to the mainland was delivered to Fuzhou port by a HK freighter on May 14.

    Ready for Fotune Global Forum 2005

    On the evening of May 13, a rehearsal was held at the Temple of Heaven, Beijing, for the opening ceremony of the Fortune Global Forum which is set to be inaugurated on May 16. Beijing is ready for the three-day event, said Wang Qishan,the city's mayor.Nearly 1,000 waiters and waitresses from 14 hotels, 188 volunteers and more than 30 senior interpreters have been trained to provide service for the forum. More than 4,000 police will be on hand to ensure security.
