11 abduction suspects nabbed in Macao
font size

Macao police have seized 11 suspects allegedly involved in an abduction case in Taiwan, local media reported Sunday.

The Macao Daily News, the leading local newspaper, quoted police sources as saying that the police also froze the ransom worth 4 million US dollars in a local bank account in Macao.

The Taiwan police have apprehended four other suspects including the master-mind in the island and successfully released the hostage unhurt, said the newspaper.

The victim, son of a Taiwanese cyber gaming tycoon, was taken hostage last month in Taiwan and the suspects assumedly used a Macao bank account for the ransom, it added.

Further investigations are under way, said the newspaper.
