Li Meng, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), met in Beijing Tuesday with a delegation of the United Nations Association of the United States.

The delegation, headed by Irving Stolbery, president of Connecticut branch, has come to visit China at the invitation of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.

The people of China and the United States enhance understanding and friendship through friendly and cordial exchanges, which are conducive to healthy, steady growth of Sino-US relations, said Li.

Stolbery said his association will work jointly with the Chinese side to push forward the friendship between the people of the two countries.
