FORTUNE reaps at least $3.5 mln from sponsors and participants

The commercial operation of the FORTUNE Global Forum has been a focus of attention. According to the forum's chief representative in China Jaime Florcruz, the forum this year has generated a profit, with the income mainly from sponsorship and participation fees. He didn't reveal the sponsorship amount, but said that each CEO coming outside China will pay 5,000 US dollars, and Chinese participants 1,500 dollars. The income of this year's forum, as is estimated, should exceed 3.5 million dollars.

Sponsors of the 2005 Beijing forum fall into five categories: Platinum Sponsors, Gold Sponsors, Silver Sponsors, Knowledge Partners, Suppliers and Economic Development Sponsors.

As Platinum Sponsors to this year's forum, it is learned, Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) and Oracle Corporation will each offer 500,000 dollars. Gold Sponsors including Shenzhen-based Mission Hills Gulf Club, Sinopec and Yahoo! must each pay 100,000 dollars. Spouses of CEOs from outside China are not charged the 5,000 dollars participation fee, but they must pay by themselves meals and accommodation in China.

Rough estimation says that RORTUNE will reap at least 1.5 million to 2 million dollars from sponsors, in Beijing, 2005.
