Chinese state councilor meets South Africa guest

Chinese State Councilor Hua Jianmin met Tuesday with Frank Chikane, director of the president's office of South Africa. They hailed bilateral ties and vowed to further cooperation.

Hua, also secretary-general of the State Council, said China and South Africa witnessed fast growing bilateral relations and fruitful cooperation in politics, economy and trade, science and technology, culture and education and tourism.

"We appreciate South Africa's adherence to the one-China policy and support to China's stance on the issues of Tibet and human rights," Hua said, adding China and South Africa have sound coordination and cooperation in international affairs.

Chikane spoke highly of relations with China, saying South Africa hopes to learn more from China's experience on reform and opening-up and economic building.

Chikane started the visit on Monday as guest of the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
