Chinese vice premier Wu Yi to meet Japanese PM

Chinese Vice Premier Wu Yi is expected to meet with Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi and Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Shoichi Nakagawa during her visit to Japan, Foreign Ministry spokesman Kong Quan said at a routine news conference Tuesday.

Wu arrived in Japan this afternoon for a seven-day working visit to the country.

According to Kong, Wu is scheduled to attend a forum on urban development in Nagoya on May 18 and the opening ceremony of China Day held at the Aichi Expo 2005. She will also be present at celebrations to mark the 50th founding anniversary of a Japan- China trade center and give a speech at a seminar to be held by Japan Economic News.
