New Lenovo chairman Yang Yuanqing said in Beijing Tuesday that his company has no plans for staff reduction following the completion of its acquisition of IBM's PC division on May 1 this year.
Yang made the remarks at the ongoing ninth Fortune Global Forum held in the national capital from May 16 to 18, saying that the most crucial thing for Lenovo is to integrate the advantages of the two sides and bring them into full play.
"Lenovo made good preparations for the acquisition," acknowledged the chairman. "However, purchasing is only the first step and huge challenge still remains in future integration both in business and culture."
"Based on mutual understanding to professional work and common enterprising spirit, the problems will be easily resolved," he predicted. Moreover, he said early this month that the new Lenovo would be a global PC enterprise with an enterprising spirit and would dedicate itself to improving client services.
