China to promote cooperation with Papua New GuineaChinese Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan Tuesday called for China and Papua New Guinea (PNG) to make joint efforts to provide sound conditions for further expanding cooperation between the two sides. During a meeting with Minister for Mining Sam Akoitai and Minister for Petroleum and Energy Moi Avei and other PNG officials, the Chinese vice premier said China and PNG have enjoyed stable development of bilateral ties and expanded their cooperation in various fields since the forging of their diplomatic ties, expressing his appreciation of PNG for adhering to the one-China policy. China and PNG complement each other in economy, and enjoy broad prospect in economic exchanges and cooperation, Zeng said, noting that Chinese businesses are encouraged to take economic and technological cooperation with PNG, especially in exploiting resources and energy. The two ministers from Papua New Guinea briefed Zeng on their country's economic situation, and said Chinese businesses are welcomed to participate in the economic development of their country.
