font size

The Third China International Tea Trade Fair will be held from June 29 to July 2 in the city of Rizhao, east China's Shandong Province, said its deputy mayor Hou Chengjun at a press conference here Thursday.

The fair is cosponsored by the China Association of Tea Communication, the Shandong Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the Shandong Tea Culture Association and the Rizhao municipal government.

"Tea and Tourism, Tea and Culture and Tea and Health" will be the theme of the trade fair, the official said.

During the four-day fair, the organizing committee will open forums on China's tea development and hold activities to celebrate China's tea culture.

More than 170 tea companies from both home and abroad will attend the fair, Hou said.

Located in southeast Shandong and situated along the coast of the Yellow Sea, Rizhao has approximately 8,000 hectares of tea farms. It is the biggest green tea production base north of the Yangtze River.
