Mobile hot-dog wagons are speeding up their pace into China. The popular fast food wagons, which have aroused the interest of both domestic and international travelers, can already be seen at various tourist destinations in Beijing.
This is the first step in the "China strategy" of the American Brunch Fast Food International Franchise Company, which hopes to have in China 100 franchise stores by 2005, 200 stores by 2006, 800 stores by 2007 and 1000 stores by 2010.
The first franchise to promote mobile food service on the Chinese mainland, Brunch plans to establish partnerships with Coca- Cola and Nestle.
Due to the need for large investment, the long-term rewards and high threshold, many middle and small investors had given up the idea of franchised western fast food. But experts now say franchises have been a popular trend in the world economy.
Brunch has already set up stores in Beihai Park and Beijing Funpark. Mobile franchise wagons are the main form of selling hot- dogs in the United States, said Wu Yiding, senior official of Brunch.
