Wang Jiarui, head of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, met in Beijing Thursday with Valentin Paniagua, former president of Peru and leader of the Popular Action Party.
Wang said China and Peru have enjoyed an all-round growth of their traditional friendship in recent years. Frequent contacts between Chinese and Peruvian statesmen have enhanced mutual- beneficial cooperation of the two sides in politics, economy, culture and other fields, and also promoted the mutual understanding and mutual support of the two countries in international affairs, he added.
Paniagua said his party is willing to further strengthen its friendly exchanges with the CPC, in a bid to contribute more to bilateral relations between the two countries.
