China pledged to further economic and cultural exchanges and upgrade bilateral cooperative ties with Thailand to a new level, said Chinese Vice-Premier Huang Ju Friday.
China and Thailand are "good neighbors, good partners and good brothers," Huang told his Thai counterpart Somkid Jatusripitak, adding that China is satisfied with the growth of relations between the two countries.
"The strategic cooperation between our two sides are developing extensively. Our cooperation in economy, trade and tourism have produced significant results and brought concrete interests to the two peoples," Huang said.
Somkid is visiting China with a large delegation of representatives from commerce and tourism sectors.
Somkid said this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries and Thailand wants to avail the opportunity to promote bilateral strategic cooperation.
China and Thailand forged diplomatic ties in 1975. In 2004, bilateral trade volume reached 17.3 billion US dollars, growing 37 percent on a year-on-year basis.
