Blair, Barroso meet on EU economic reform
font size

British Prime Minster Tony Blair met Friday with European Commission President Jose Mannuel Barroso in London on economic reform of the European Union, the Downing Street office said.

A spokesman at Downing Street office said the talks focused on EU's economic reform agenda, which will be one of Britain's priorities during its six-month presidency of the EU beginning in July.

The two leaders also discussed Britain's EU budget rebate and French impending referendum on the European Constitution, the spokesman said without giving details.

Blair, who was treated for a slipped disc in his back on Thursday, met with Barroso over breakfast at his country residence, Chequers.
