Twenty-four Chinese mountaineers and researchers began leaving the top of Mount Qomolangma (Mount Everest) at about 12:25 (Beijing Time) Sunday after completing their measuring work at the summit, according to reports from the headquarters.

They have erected a survey beacon at the top of the peak and used GPS and radar devices to measure the height. They stayed at the top of the peak for 77 minutes.

The 24 Chinese expeditioners started at 03:30 their assault on Mount Qomolangma, the summit of the earth, to remeasure its heightand scaled the peak before noon Sunday.
