font size

Icelandic President Olafur Ragnar Grimsson left Beijing Sunday evening after concluding his seven-day state visit to China.

This is Grimsson's first China visit after he took office as president in August 1996. During his stay in China, Chinese President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao held talks and met with him respectively.

The two countries also agreed to launch the feasibility study on establishing a free trade area.

Besides Beijing, the 62-year-old Icelandic president also visited Shanghai and Shandong Province.
