State auditors to check unemployment insurance funds in 50 cities
font size

State auditors will check unemployment insurance funds in 50 cities in 2005 in order to uncover any malpractice in the management of the funds.

The National Audit Office (NAO) is expected to publish the results of the auditing, the sources said.

Last year, NAO audited, on an experimental basis, the unemployment insurance funds in five cities, including Shenyang, Shijiazhuang, Ningbo, Chengdu and Xi'an.

The trial auditing shows that the management of these funds is weak and local governments often use the money for other purposes.
