Northeastern provinces join hands to promote digital TV

The radio & television administrative bureaus of northeast China's Liaoning, Jilin and Heilongjiang provinces and Liaoning Communications Administration will hold an international exhibition on digital TV, radio and communication network from June 16 to 19 and promote the development in this regard, according to annoucement by the Radio & Television Administrative Bureau of Liaoning Province and the provincial communications administration.

They will expand domestic and international cultural and technological exchanges and establish a platform for exhibition, information transfer, marketing and mutually beneficial cooperation concerning radio and television broadcasting, and communication technologies as well as their application in the northeastern region.

Digital television subscribers in Liaoning will reach 220, 000 at the end of this year and digital television will be universal in the province in 2008.
