font size

Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), returned to Beijing Monday afternoon after visiting Mexico, Cuba, Colombia and Uruguay.

Jia paid the official goodwill visits at the invitation of Diego Fernandez, senate president of the Mexican Congress of the Union, Ricardo Alarcon, president of the National Assembly of the People's Power of Cuba, Colombian Congress President Luis Gomez and the Uruguayan government.

During his visit, Jia exchanged views with leaders of the four countries on bilateral relations and other issues of common concern.

Jia's main entourage included secretary-general of CPPCC National Committee Zheng Wantong. Zheng said Jia's just-concluded tour has enhanced exchanges and cooperation between the CPPCC and parliaments of the four countries, and broadened mutual exchange channels.
