World figure skating champions ShenXue and Zhao Hongbo chose Madame Butterfly as their free dance music, coach Yao Bin said on Monday.
"We chose Madame Butterfly as the free dance music for Shen andZhao from thousands of music," said Yao, "It is a symphony edition."
After winning the World Championships in 2002 and 2003, Shen/Zhao's Song Dynasty was not as successful as before when they lost in the 2005 World Figure Skating Championship in March, and they decided to change the music to prepare for the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics.
"Shen and Zhao will begin training right now from May 23rd," said coach Yao, "They are determined to strive for the title of the Turin Winter Olympics since this may be their last Olympics."
But Yao said that the Madame Butterfly may also be changed.
"This is our primary choice and if Shen and Zhao have problems with that, we may change the music," said Yao.
Madame Butterfly, first performed in Milan in 1904, is a famous opera in three acts by Italian composer G. Puccini.
