Palestinian groups call for dialogue between Fatah, Hamas
font size

The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) called on Tuesday Hamas and Fatah to resolve disputes by meaningful dialogue.

The two factions said in a joint press release that the reason behind the disputes is the electoral law and negative behaviors that were carried out by some people during the election campaign.

The second stage of municipal elections was held on May 5, and civil courts ruled that elections in three Gaza Strip municipalities should be held again.

Serious disagreements have emerged in the last few days between Fatah and Hamas on the ruling.

The press release said the Palestinians are still on the stage of national liberation, calling on Fatah and Hamas to resolve disputes by dialogue.

It demanded that Abbas issue a presidential decree to hold the legislative elections due on July 17 on the basis of a 100 percent proportional representation.
