Chinese FM to visit Palestinian territories in June

A senior Palestinian official announced on Monday in Ramallah that Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing will visit the Palestinian territories in June.

Palestinian Foreign Minister Nasser al Qedwa said in a statement that his Chinese counterpart's visit is aimed at continuing the Chinese-Palestinian dialogue that was launched by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas last week during his visit to China.

"The visit of Chinese Foreign Minister to the Palestinian territories was agreed upon between President Abbas and the Chinese leadership during Abbas' visit to Beijing last week," said al Qedwa.

He highlighted that "China as a great country has a political and economic importance and the historic relations between the two peoples and the two leaderships have been always good."
