China hopes to promote environmental cooperation with USChinese Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan voiced the hope to strengthen dialogues and consultations with the United States in the environmental field, and work with the other countries of the world to face the challenges of the climate changing. Zeng made the remarks in a meeting with James Connaughton, chair of the US Council on Environmental Quality Tuesday. Zeng said China has paid great attention to the impact of the climate changing on environment of human being, and pursued the sustainable development strategy, and taken measures to control the resources consumption and pollutant disposal. China and the United States should increase contact and mutual understanding in dealing with the climate changing, Zeng said. Connaughton spoke highly of the efforts of China on environmental protection, hoping to enhance cooperation between the two countries in this regard.
