font size

China's top political consultants plan to discuss the issue of building China into a harmonious society in July, according to a decision made by leaders of the Chinese People's Political Consultation Conference (CPPCC) Tuesday.

Between July 5 and 8, members of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee are expected to make comments and give proposals on the issue.

Jia Qinglin, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and member of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Political Bureau, presided over Tuesday's meeting, which was attended by 16 vice chairpersons.

At the meeting, Zheng Wantong, secretary general of the CPPCC National Committee, made a report on Jia's recent tour in Mexico, Cuba, Columbia and Uruguay.
