President of Uzbekistan starts China visit

President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov arrived in Beijing Wednesday, starting a three-day state visit to China aimed at boosting bilateral ties.

Chinese President Hu Jintao is expected to hold talks with Karimov. Karimov will also meet with Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, sources with Chinese Foreign Ministry said. Nosirdjon Yusupov, Uzbekistan's ambassador to China, told

Cooperation Organization (SCO), a regional organization founded in 2001. SCO launched a regional anti-terrorism agency in Uzbekistan's capital Tashkent.
