Sichuan Province, in southwest China, is soliciting world investment for 500 key projects, deputy governor of Sichuan announced Wednesday.
The projects, including infrastructure construction, high- technology, agricultural industrialization, manufacture, tourism and service sectors, are expected to attract 110 billion yuan (13. 3 billion US dollars) in investment worldwide, said Huang Xiaoxiang at the ongoing Sixth Western China International Economy & Trade Fair.
Most of the projects are both reliable in terms of their technological level and economically feasible, the deputy governor said.
Sichuan has make great efforts to improve its investment environment and renovate the government's functions in line with the international norm.
According to statistics, 6,900 overseas companies have registered their businesses in Sichuan, with a direct investment of 5.6 billion US dollars. Of the world's top 500 businesses, 97 have opened their branches or offices in the province.
