font size

World lighting giant Osram Co., Ltd. is planning to cooperate with a optoelectronic firm in Nanchang, capital of east China's Jiangxi Province in light emitting diode ( LED) production, said a local government source.

Lais Johnson, president of Osram China, confirmed that Osram will launch a cooperation program with Jiangxi Lianchuang Science and Technology Optoelectronics Co., Ltd in LED business after negotiations Monday.

He said Osram will take the opportunity to further develop the Chinese market, introducing its LED technologies to more of China's mobile phone manufacturers and city illumination projects.

As one of the first four semiconductor lighting industry bases in China, Nanchang has a complete industrial chain of semiconductor products. Nanchang University is leading in research of semiconductor lighting materials.
