font size

The charge standard for digital TV programs in Beijing will be released in three months, according to He Gongming, executive deputy manager of Beijing-based Gehua CATV Network Co., Ltd.

According to relevant state regulations, departments concerned will offer every household a set top box for free.

He said, the premise transmission for digital TV broadcasting has been completed in Beijing and the conditions in all the districts and counties have been available. Previously, Gehua conducted pilot digital TV broadcasting in two residential communities.

Besides 37 channels during the analog-to-digital conversion, 24 specific channels as well as 16 stereo radio programs with high visual and audio quality are also prepared for digital TV subscribers in Beijing, He said.

After the overall conversion, channels available will add up to 100 with special services at a higher level.
